- Playgroup Tasmania has been supporting, resourcing and establishing playgroups throughout Tasmania for over 30 years. We continue to be the most affordable and accessible not-for-profit organisation for families with young children in the State. We offer access to over 153 affiliated Playgroups and Playcentres. Currently over 1600 families enjoy the benefits of playgroup in sessions operating from inner city localities to outer suburbs to small rural communities. Playgroup Tasmania is a member of Playgroup Australia Inc. * Playgroup has over 50,000 members nationally. Our Mission Playgroup Tasmania services, supports and promotes playgroups in the community through regional zones. Our Vision Every family in Tasmania will have the opportunity to experience community-based playgroups. Our Philosophy We believe that parents and carers of young children are entitled to have access to a stimulating, creative and secure environment in which they may interact together to foster the development of their mutual social, educational, emotional and physical needs through play.
